I purchased this kayak as a gift for my girlfriend. I have a WS pamlico 100 and wanted something comparable for her first yak. While the boat is three pounds lighter than my pam and has a nice sleek appearance as well as stable presence on the water, there are some drawbacks that make the quality of the boat fall below the pam. First of all, the seat provided is not the seat pictured by the company website. The actual seat was much lower and generated some complaints that it was lacking in back support. Finding a replacement seat for this kayak (or any sit in kayak) is a challenge. In addition, there are no knee/thigh pads on the inside of the cockpit's edge, making it uncomfortable if you use your thighs to assist in powering the boat. To add these will set you back just under $30. Both of these little amenities will set you back an additional chunk of change but come standard with the pamlico, and wilderness systems has many more accessory options available, including replacement seats if yours is ever destroyed or you purchase a used yak. To end on a positive note, the featherlite looks sharp in the khaki color, not an option that WS provides :)
