This coat is SO warm! That is what I wanted, and it is perfect for keeping warm on an Idaho winter day. It isn't super puffy so that it feels bulky, but isn't completely flat either-a good medium fill. I actually ordered a small because usually on the tighter fitting North Face jackets (like the Redpoint) an XS has too short of sleeves. However, when I got the small, it felt like I was wearing a medium. The biggest thing to know if you are petite/slender person like me (5'6" and 105 lbs.) is that the shoulders have a lot of extra room in them and so it makes it feel way too bulky. I ended up sending the small back and got an XS, which fits perfect. I was worried about the white getting dirty easily, but the dirt doesn't really show up and I just washed it for the first time and it came out like brand new. The sleeve length still fits, and the shoulders aren't too bulky. It also has the wind protection so I think it is better than a few other down coats I have from North Face, but the material is still softer than your regular ski coat.
I read all the reviews from several sites on this coat, and compared with a few other coats. I am glad I chose this one-the hood fits fine unlike a few reviews I read about it. A great winter coat for someone who has a hard time staying warm, and comfortable enough that you could sleep in it! :)
