They work great, but first timers take note!

I just put these on my TLT Vertical bindings a few weeks ago, and am happy I did so. I'd hate to lose a ski down the hill or worse yet over a cliff while I was in the backcountry without them!
The "instructions" that came with them were a joke, however. If you're going to install them yourself, there is a great "how-to" on Lou Dawson's site at http://www.wildsnow.com/articles/dynafit_faq/comfort-brake-install.html. I was able to install them pretty quickly, and I'm no ski-tech by any stretch.
And you do still need to BE CAREFUL when you take your skis off at the top of a climb to take your skins off: The first time I did this I realized that the brakes are held up and out of the way by the binding while you are in touring mode (sounds obvious, but I expected the brakes to employ as soon as you took your boot out of the binding), so when you take your ski off it could still take off down the hill until you rotate your heel-piece to ski-mode and then the brakes are freed up to work.
Enjoy!
