I recently purchased this bag to fulfill my need for a warm winter bag that I could use backpacking wherever I needed. I took this bag on a 13 mile trail in TN in feb where the lows at night dropped to about 23 degrees. Slept comfortably at these temps with just a baselayer and long johns on (both patagonia capilene). I was warm and cozy. The next night I decided to really push the bag to the limit and slept in just underwear. I was warm, but when I woke up in the morning at about 6 oclock, I felt a little chilled; but thats what I get for experimenting. I realize that I could have been from my prolite sleeping pad since it is not insulated. Overall I am very pleased with this bag. It cinches up tight and the draft collar does wonders. I spilled water on it on night when I was pulling out my camelbak and the water beaded right up on the nylon. Did not saturate any of the down with water. The long is very roomy and spacious even for a guy my size (I am 6'3" 220 pounds). After hearing the justification for the lack of down of the bottom of the bag I was a little skeptical, but I am a believer now. Compressed down does NOTHING. The integrated pad sleeve and pillow sleeve is awesome and I think I will only buy BA bags from now on. It turns your individual sleeping accessories into a sleep system. Everything is integrated. Weighs a little more than the other 800 fill BA bags but I believe that this one is a little roomier. Worth the little extra weight and substantial difference in price.
