This sweater is nice and comfy, pretty lightweight and thin. It's been treated with omni-shield, has pockets and a full zip front so you might think it is a jacket, but it won't really work as such - it's a comfort layer for mild weather. The hand pockets are small and flimsy - good for warming hands, but not holding much else (no zipper or other type of closure). The fit is slightly on the slim side. Good for indoors or outside on a cool evening. Pretty packable for hiking (it does breath pretty well) or travel.
