Sorry to affect the review of what is likely a great jacket with a complaint that is actually against Steepandcheap/Backcountry, but I feel it necessary to call this out.
My wife needs a new rain jacket, and given the limited time to purchase on S&C, I went for it. I saw that the MSRP (according to S&C) was $398, marked down to $160 (60% off!). Seeing the original price was enough for me to assume this is one of Outdoor Research's top of the line rain jackets (I have the Mentor, which is similarly priced and which I love).
However, this jacket is NOT originally $398. It is a Pac-Lite shell that normally sells for $200, and therefore was only about 15% off of the MSRP. I appreciate that Backcountry is apparently cancelling my order prior to shipping and giving a full refund, but I'm still getting a little miffed at their inflated MSRP's that they can then appear to mark wayyy down.

That's an awesome price for a pro shell. I just bought the Foray jacket with paclite, but if I saw the same with a pro shell, I'd jump on it. Regardless, if you are looking for a specific product, like you were, you should have read the description, not just the MSRP. If it said it was paclite, you should have known something was fishy about the price. SAC isn't so quick that you can't click a few more links to make sure you're getting what you want. Take a little responsibility - Even by your own account, bc.com made it right as soon as you pointed out the error. What else could they have done?

Sorry for the confusion here. While you are right about Backcountry/S&C making a mistake, it is not the inflated price mistake that you suspect. The item on S&C (ODR0714) was a special edition Gore-Tex Pro Shell version which is the reason for the difference in price. The special edition was not communicated well and the jacket got the regular Aspire Pac-Lite description by mistake. Steepandcheap.com loves you and wants to get you kitted, not mislead you for profit. Thanks for your support!
