I needed a real pair of winter boots and not a pair of hiking boots, worn in the winter. They are a little heavy, but that is to be expected. I have a narrow foot, so I had to add an additional insole. Which is really no big deal. I have to do that for all my boots. They keep my feet warm and dry. I live in Michigan, so that is a must. After walking in them for a few weeks, I have gotten used to the weight.
