Not the same

I already own a pair of these, waist size 30, and I just love them. I saw them on sale again at backcountry, and ordered another pair, expecting them to have the same fit as the first pair. Alas, I was in for disappointment - While the waist is still 30 inches around, there was less fabric elsewhere in the shorts, leaving them tight around my thighs. So tight, in fact, that I can hardly raise my knees....making these a poor pair of shorts for climbing. I looked at the label, and the older, well fitting shorts were made in thailand, while the poorly-fitting shorts were made in china. It's almost as if the Chinese makers fiddled with the patterns in order to save a little extra fabric.
