weird fit for me

This shirt has great material, but the fit was way off for me. I tried a couple on in size medium and fit great through my torso, bu the sleeves felt like they were for an XL. If it happens to fit you, I bet it is a great shirt.

I have noticed some variability in sizing within model years and Patagonia loves to tweak their stuff year-to-year.

These shirts definitely have an athletic cut to them. I have a medium with the opposite problem. The torso fits fine but the sleeves barely come down to mid bicept. Seems like patagonia is messing around with the sizing a little bit.
