the Icon has ups and downs:
downs: heavy (weight not worth the resource for backpacking); top strap has poor attachment design and can become uncomfortable or unstable.
ups: very bright light; excellent for cycling at night; beam throw is about 40 yards at peak output; and uses AA batteries.
overall, i wouldn't recommend this lamp, but it functions well.
