I've used the Merino Bliss shirt to ski in in the teens, and as the only thing on under my arc'teryx soft shell, I was still warm and comfortable with the wool as my only underlayer. I've also used it as my only underlayer while skiing in Tahoe in the 40's - breathability was great!! I wore it for 4 days of skiing in the same week and, as is expected for merino, it didn't retain my stench. Fantastic product, I plan on buying it in a few more colors. Love it, 5 stars. As far as sizing goes: I'm a muscular 6'2', 215 lbs, and the large fits perfect.
