Got these for winter hiking in the White Mountains and they haven't disappointed. They are great on hard snow and ice. I've taken them up and down slopes of roughly 45 degrees with no issues. One word of caution, I wear size 11 boots and Im on the last adjustment hole so keep boot size in mind because you might need to get the extension bars.
The one annoying thing is how long the strap is. I can strap myself in then go over the top and back 3 times before it's not flailing all over the place. I'll probably end up just cutting the excess.
