I understand but...

Ranked #148 - Water Filters

I understand this filter has increased filtration capabilities and a massive lifespan per filter; however, for regular backpacking in the US, the flow output is painfully slow. I can see how this filter would rock in a third-world country, but I hated using my friend's on a recent camping trip near Big Sur, CA. For domestic travels, I would much prefer my Katadyn Hiker Pro. Fast, lightweight and efficient. Sweetwater drops are an easy fix to viral worries.

I agree about the amount of force needed to pump this filter... what sets this filter apart, besides the lifespan is the .2 um filtration, smallest in the industry... which is why its used in 3rd world countries...

I'd rather have a slow durable filter than a broken fast filter! :)
