1. Yes I added sole insert as well2. Have put about 3000 miles on them, have not even changed the shoestrings - tough3. They have changed the style a little but basic design the same in 3 yrs4. YES I plan on replacing mine with these5. Used in all kinds of weather - yr. around6. After I broke them in I actual forget they are my feet7. About 20mile breakin time... wear them before the trip8. Hard soles... do buy insoles
