This Beanie is perfect. I am as particular about my Beanie as anyone you will ever meet. In fact, my friends regularly accuse me of having obsessive compulsive disorder due to this. So after losing my favorite, I searched for months (no joke) and bought at least 5 different Beanie's, none of which I was happy with. Then I found this one! This is the perfect Beanie for Southeast Alaska. It has just the right amount of warmth. Southeast Alaska isn't really all that cold so this wouldn't make a good hat for extreme cold weather but for temps around freezing, it's perfect. It keeps your head warm without getting too hot.
