If I had to have only one, non-solo tent...

Ranked #64 - 4-Season Tents

This tent may initially seem to be a bit heavy for a three person tent- but the extra features have advantages. First it IS a three person tent, meaning three people can actually sleep and negotiate (fairly comfortably) inside. Second, the design makes for a super strong construction, and this tent can hold up in wicked wind storms- beyond most other brands. The vestibule has ample space for cooking and for stashing gear. Sierra Designs use of space is really efficient, and there are many guy points on the exterior- which is a very important feature many tent manufacturers don't think out so well. If you had to have only one tent for non-solo journeys in all seasons, this would be a great choice: car camping, 3-person backpacking, Whitney in winter- or the steep slopes of Himalayan giant.
