not so much!

By Ranked #173 - Women's Hiking Boots December 20, 2009

I have had these boots for several months. I wore them originally with no problems, but after several times wearing them they started to make my ankles hurt---severly. I thought maybe it was my ankle, so I continued to give them a chance----no more chances! I couldn't barely walk to the trailhead the last time I wore them. That was when I was done with these boots. I have had several pairs of merrell hiking boots/shoes and have never had a problem, so I was very disappointed that these didn't work out. I returned them and switched for north face mid hikers and so far they are great. These boots just didn't live up to my merrell standards--too bad!

Were you wearing tall socks? Tall socks might seem obvious to some, but I once tried wearing these boots with ankle socks. Dumb move. But you said your ankle hurt. Hmmm. Could be the fit of this model.
