Sizing is tricky

I tried 2 other CW-X tights and neither fit me (PRO and PERFORMX) well around the waistline. I can't stand it when they ride high and cut into my gut. This one seems promising though - much softer fabric and I believe lower cut in the waist. However, according to the sizing chart I'm clearly a Medium - on the small side of medium even - but I'm going to try a size Large since I don't like feeling like a sausage. I did the same with the bra and have a size larger than recommended but I love it and it is plenty supportive, so I'm thinking maybe the same logic will apply here?
