Gear Review
not bad, pretty heavy insulation

Picked up a pair of these hoping that they would work out under a pair of softshells for touring. I spoke with someone at backcountry.com who told me they were very light insulation - which they are not. They have a brushed poly interior, which when paired with the wind resistant material on the front panels makes for a bit of a sauna effect. They are light on the backsides to vent, but I would suggest for heavy duty aerobic exercise to go for the lighter non-insulated pair. In terms of the fit, they fit well and provide a moderate level of compression and provide a bit of knee stability (certainly not comparable to a brace). Overall the construction appears to be of high quality, and the seams are pretty minimal and do not rub.
