Solid Pack

Ranked #188 - Weeklong Packs (Over 4500 cu in)

This pack is definitely one of the best available in the "expedition" size range. I've used mine for a variety of missions from canyoneering in the SW to mountaineering in the NW. The Argon has some plush straps and handles large loads well (70+lbs.). While it can haul a lot of gear it can take a strange shape and it took me some time to learn how to load this pack best (kinda squatty in shape). The pack seems to handle best with more moderate loads. On the down side, the strap buckles are company specific meaning you need to contact osprey for replacements. The suspension system allows for some terrible pack squeaks and osprey acknowledges this as a common problem (I fixed mine with some WD-40). Loops on the bottom of the pack work well for an A frame carry with skis and the rear mesh pocket holds an avy shovel well. Overall, this pack is deluxe! If you need to haul around some serious weight and/or bulk you should give this product some serious thought.
