Ranked #621 - Lightweight Sleep Pads
November 23, 2009
I purchased the 77x25 pad since I like to have room. The 77x25 only weighs 19 ounces anyway. Love that you can blow it up without a special pump. I sleep cold so this pad did not work for me in 20 degrees above zero. The R value is about 2.5, if it gets below freezing, I need another pad with a higher R - value. It's a wonderful spring/summer/fall backpacking pad. Light and comfortable. It's the best weight to comfort value I've found. It's 2 inches thick, so it handles the rough ground.

Agreed, used this pad into the twenties this weekend and that was beyond it's comfort zone. If you're going below freezing I'd recommend supplementing it with a Z-lite underneath for added insulation from the cold ground. I'm not sure why backcountry list's it's use as "Cold weather camping"
