Ranked #170 - Women's Technical Sandals
November 6, 2009
I ordered these shoes for a sea kayaking trip I took with friends. I was told the oyster bars were bad out there so I needed something to protect my feet. They did great in the water and walking around in, except for in sand. The WORST part is the sand that gets inside the shoe, and doesn't get out. It fills up under the arch of your foot and is rather painful to walk around on. They do not protect completely around your foot either because there are straps as opposed to full fabric protection like with sneakers. I actually did cut the inside of my foot on an oyster shell because of that.
I would say if your are going to be a in a lot of sand, these are not the shoes to pick, but maybe in less of a sandy environment, they'd be great! And if you are going to be walking in an environment where you are going to need your foot completely protected, I wouldn't go for these.
I did however really like the light green color of them, and the more feminine, smaller straps. And they are SUPER comfortable. I also wear them around town on rainy days and because the traction is so good, I'm less likely to slip.
