Ranked #410 - Winter Packs
November 3, 2009
I used to only bring packs on big hikes, but the Chugach 16 changed my habits. I consider this to be as essential as skis and boots for most days on the hill. You never know when you're going to want your avalanche gear to dip out of the boundary gate, and the hydration hose and sandwich carrying abilities are indispensable in or out of bounds. And the small size lets you forget you even have it.
