Its awesome to layer under, however, as a previous review stated I wish it were a bit longer. Which is saying something as I am 5'1" and I bought a small in hopes of layering a sweatshirt and my denali fleece under it as well. I most likely could have gotten a small however, I like longer sleeves but the torso is incredibly roomy although I only weigh 120lbs. I have worn it in some really rainy conditions already and I stayed completely dry and it really blocks out the wind too. Great buy and for the cheapest price I have seen.
