GSI Outdoors Hard Anodized Dutch Oven

Worth the money

According to the wife - doesn't weigh 100lb, so even she, being somewhat petite and biceps challenged (and does most of the cooking) can haul it around. From my perspective, the brownies were perfect, and it was easy to clean. The lack of a thick coat of oil afterward also makes it easier to justify tossing in the car. Cast iron is definitely cheaper, but way higher maintenance.

I have a Camp Chef aluminum dutch oven. I just used it for DO potatoes. I also have 6 cast iron ovens, mostly Lodge 12 and 14" standard and deep. I would not give up the CI ovens for aluminum but I enjoy both. The aluminum oven is not much heavier than a good stock pot and I have backpacked with it. To make space work out I have tightly packed it with food or gear. The lid can be a fry pan. One other big difference is that you can use soap to clean the aluminum oven. NEVER use soap on a CI oven, unless yu like the taste of soap. The aluminum will never give you that "extra" taste of patina. That may not be a big disadvantage.
