I picked these up for a little better fit in my Nepal Evo's. They do give you a more comfortable, more custom fit feeling. The only downside I have is that, especially in the heel, they take up too much room. Especially in my Nepal Evo's, as the heel sinks back in quite far, these didn't work. I like the idea and the feel of them so I stuck them in my Glacier Evo's for general use and they're perfect. My advice is just to be sure you have the room in your boots and especially in the heel region. Great concept though.

Great call on that one Tim! I'm going to try the Karnazes in my Nepal Evo's, but I'm thinking of picking up a couple more pair of these for my trail running shoes. I did Wasatch 100 last year for the first time and bruised the pads of my feet quite badly....like it took nearly 3 months before I had feeling in my toes again.....YIKES! I got in again this year and am going to start running with these this coming week. I think they'll be just what the doctor ordered!!!

The Ed Viesturs have 3.2 mm of Softec cushioning and are the thickest of the Sole footbeds and so are best of those looking for max cushioning. As Steve stated, just make sure you have enough volume in your footwear for these to fit. If your shoes don't have the space, try the Dean Karnazes or the Sole Response, which have 1.6 mm of Softec cushioning and will take up less volume in your foot wear.
