im iffy on these pants--partly because im used to the quality and design of cloudveil, patagonia, and arcteryx--ive never owned ski pants under $300. however, no one makes brown pants and I found these on SAC or Tramdock at 60% off and i figured why not. ANYWAY, on to the review...I love the light insulation--however, they are on the front of the legs--fine for AT, but for resort skiing, I want insulation on my bottom for a cold chairlift. I love the soft shell and hard shell mix--they are really flexible in all the right places and great for when i snowboard, as i can sit in the snow (hardshell on back of legs). The fit is also slimming--im 5'7 140 lbs between size 6-8, I ordered an 8, but i could easily go down a size--so they are definitely true to size--they are definitely not baggy, stiff pants. I hate the pocket placement...the two "handwarmers" are so high my jacket covers them, so they are worthless--the bottom pocket, which i thought was going to be thigh area is actually on the cuff--what is the point of a pocket way down there?!? Lastely, the gaiters on the ankle are elastic only, so there is no way to adjust for size--since the pants are slim fit, they REALLY flare at the bottom--a simple snap to make them tighter would have been great. All in all, solid pants for $50 with 20K waterproofness, just dont expect high end features.
