KEEN Targhee ll Mid Hiking Shoe - Women's

Item #KEN0172 | 200 in Stock

I got mine about three weeks ago and went with a full size larger than my normal shoe size. The toe bumper hurts my toes! If I went any larger there would be major heel slippage. I am afraid to do any hikes that would require big downhill sections in these shoes. Also I used them for work for 2 weeks in mesquite/salt cedar riparian areas. The mesquite tore off alarmingly large chunks of the sole, making it look like it was made of styrofoam. I would not recommend these shoes if you live in the southwest or a thorny place. I am thinking of returning them, if I still can.

I've had issues with mine as well. On my first big adventure with these boots, all was fine. Then on the next big hike a year later my two big toes hurt like crazy. The toe nails turned black and it took a year for them to grow back. I did a 5 mile hike the other day trying to decide if that was a fluke, and my big toes hurt again. I also decided that the toe bumper was pressing down on my toes, I usually buy 1 size larger for hiking boots to accomodate my wide foot and to allow room for my foot while going down hill, but I don't think that strategy is going to work with these boots.
