I have always liked Marmot clothing, but wasn't impressed with these. They are exactly what I expected in terms of being light-weight. However, for the price and brand I expected them to be more comfortable. As other reviewers have noted, they were not at all soft for a base layer. Fit obviously varies from person to person, but these also didn't fit great. I am usually a solid Med for something like these (5'11", 175 lbs, 32x32). The length was good but they were kinda tight in the thighs, which made them feel a little restrictive, then oddly, the elastic waistband was loose. Just not right for me. I prefer the smartwool version (which is more expensive but worth it IMO) and recently bought the Terramar version which I feel is a step up from the Marmot.
