Ranked #633 - Overnight Backpacks (2000 - 2999 cu in)

I got this pack to use in Grand Canyon. I needed to be able to carry lots of water for the Clear Creek trail in August. This pack has huge side pockets which were a must have for me. Each pocket held a 1L nalgene bottle plus a 1L platypus bottle, so along with a 3L camelback in the hydration sleeve I easily carried 7L of water plus 4 days of gear.
The roll down top is great. Also having zipper access on the bottom and side of the pack makes keeping your gear organized a breeze. Carrying a smaller load is no problem thanks to all the compression straps, which by the way do not get in the way of the side pockets.
The hip-belt pockets are great for carrying on-the-go snacks and necessities such as lip balm and hand sanitizer. The mesh back panel air flow is so nice on hot days. The shoulder straps and hip belt are cushy enough to be plenty comfy for hiking all day. Overall, this is a very well-designed, durable and comfortable pack. Oh, and it looks good too--I have the green one and got many compliments on the trail :-D
