Not waterproof

By Ranked #87 - Women's Winter Boots and Shoes September 17, 2009

They are not waterproof. After getting them last fall for ice fishing I started wearing them late into autumn after temperature dropped to 30s F. Right away I noticed that they leak water. So I complained to Sorel. They agreed to accept and inspect them if I shell out for shipping to their warehouse in France. So I did. They inspected the boots and determined that they are faulty and sent me a new replacement pair. Right away I decided to check if they are waterproof so I immersed them in couple inches of water. One of the boots was taking water like a sieve. It was full of water in matter of minute. So it's a shame on Sorel part for peddling such poor quality product. Attached photo of brand new out of the box Sorel Caribou boot after it was immersed in couple of inches of water for couple minutes.

In the picture, it looks like the sole of the boot was cut. I've had Sorel boots for years and never had a problem with them. I live in Canada so the weather is brutal and through rain, snow or ice, I've never had water in my boots...ever!
