The Vasque Mantra was actually not the shoe I had originally wanted. It was the Goretex version, but when I tried it on, the extra Goretex sleeve just made them a little too tight. A subtle but crucial difference. So I tried on the regular Mantras and they fit just right. And, with a Nixwax coating, they are performing very well. I have hiked with them on a 9+ mile loop around Silver Falls State Park, and they were very comfortable,and work well as a good all purpose shoe around town and on short hikes.
