The light intensity on the long distance function was not as bright as I would have liked. The close range 3-LED function was nice for reading or close proximity use.
What turned me off the most was the huge battery pack and the exceptionally long cord. The light would be impractical, at best, to use as a headlamp with the battery pack attached to the straps. It is better suited to mounting the battery pack in a daypack or somewhere other than your head.
Overall I was less than impressed with this product.

The long cord is actually pretty useful for cold weather operations where one might need to keep the battery pack warm inside their clothes.
