Great shirt for hiking in. Good for evenings out too ...

I was looking for a replacement for a North Face long-sleeve hiking shirt, but unfortunately TNF don't make a nice lightweight wicking shirt that is as good as the old one I have [Why do TNF abandon really great designs? This is the 3rd time this has happened to me]. I found the current TNF product line was either too heavy, the sleeves were too short (I'm 6'5'' and XXL sleeves were about 1 inch too short) or I just didn't like the plaid colors.
So despite the fact that these are pretty expensive (thanks to Backcountry the sale made the cost a lot more palatable), I went for 2 of them. The material is lightweight, with great stretch, and I really like the tailoring of the shirt. The shirt tail is pretty long (great for the taller person) and the sleeves are long enough to fit perfectly for me (I normally take a 37.5" sleeve).
The only thing that takes a little getting used to is that it uses poppers (or snaps) rather than buttons. It's not a big thing, but I feel like I'm back in the 70's / 80's ...
On the upside, the shirt is easily the smartest piece of outdoor clothing I have. It's really neat to have a tailored shirt that wicks and is partly showerproof.
