Warm and versatile

I purchased this jacket as a lightweight insulating layer for backpacking. The brown color was just what I was looking for, and it's really lightweight for the amount of warmth it provides. I backpack in the high Sierras, so this jacket is useful to me during the summer when nights at altitude are still quite chilly. I also used it during my last winter living in New York's Finger Lakes. I layered it under my Marmot fleece jacket on my morning walks to the bus stop in the winter, and it was excellent. The arms are short, but I have no complaints about the elastic being too tight. My wrists are pretty small, so although I'd be pleased for longer sleeves, I'm usually wearing a long-sleeved shirt underneath, so I just pull the sleeves on the shirts out and really don't notice the short arms. I find it to be very comfortable to wear. The collar is great--soft, and just the right height. I recommend this jacket. It has been a versatile piece for me for backpacking. I can leave other clothing behind knowing that this jacket will keep me warm all by itself.
