Ranked #731 - Men's Hiking and Climbing Pants

These pants are great for a multiple of environments. Currently working in a desert environment and these pants are cool and durable, a lot better than the 5-11s. While working in a tropical environment they breathe and keep those pesky insects away. They are easy to care for. The laundry service here is not too great. I get them back all wrinkled but the wrinkles come out after wearing them for only a few minutes. I bought the medium waist and medium length and they fit fine. Im 32 in the waist and 32 inseam. Not tight and not too long. Someone that is a 34 waist would still fit in these due to the elastic waist band. I only used for about a month in both climates but to date they have held up with no durability issues. I like the fact that all the cargo pockets and back pocket have zippers; Im not a fan of Velcro. I will continue to buy these in the future because I am always working in a hot climate that is either humid or arid. They are ideal for both.

I too miss the standard Amphi pant. My first pair lasted me 10 years and I still wear them though they are pretty thread bare and have been sewn together after a few major snag tears. I bought two more pair just after Ex Officio announced they were discontinuing them. They are the only two pair of pants I were, literally. One pair got snagged this summer and tore a 6 inch rip which was easy to sew and does not show. I love the mesh brief too. I'll try these Streamliners only because the price is right. But why Ex Officio killed the original Amphi I'll never know.

Hi Ron, While we don't make the Amphi any longer there is the Nio Amphi pant which uses the same great material, but has a removable belt as well. Also, the mesh brief was removed. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the review. This pant reminds me of the Ex Officio Nylon Amphi pant that is no longer in production or in stores. It is very lightweight, has great side pockets on the thighs as well as the standard ones, and has a tie-in at the hem. I have one left and I treasure it. It is a collector's item. Ex-Officio, won't you produce more???
