Ranked #968 - Men's Hiking Shoes
August 4, 2009
Having battered my beloved Z1 sandals for over six years, I was expecting an equally rugged and supportive shoe from Chaco - these disappointed. First, no Vibram sole - the sole of these shoes are softer than my old sneakers. Pitiful. Second, the toe box is naturally sloped upward, which made me feel like my toes were pointed up when standing flat. This seemed to put undo pressure on my arch, which was thrust upward by the burley arch support (which I normally like, though not in this case). After swapping these out I bought my second pair of La Sportiva Ridge Pros and am happy.
