Sweet looking but runs bigger than older sizing

I bought a M dakine zip hooded sweatshirt a 2 years ago and the M fitted me perfect. I order this jacket thinking the seizing would be the same but it is MUCH larger. The jacket it looks super sweet and everyone loves it but i have to return it because the seizing just doesnt work.
