Gear Review
Big but fun

I just went out on my new Ride 135 yesterday. My Girlfriend has an 8' kayak and thought that my much larger boat was going to be too big to be any fun. We went to a local reservoir and on more than one occasion, I paddled into and right back out of small spaces with no problem at all.
This boat tracks very straight due to the design of the hull. Her boat has only a small rudder on the back and she had much more trouble than I staying on course when the wind picked up a bit. I had no trouble at all and had to avoid her drifting into me on more than one occasion.
I also have a dog who will be joining us on future trips and this boat has plenty of room for her in the back.
My only downside is that some of my gear got wet late in the day when water leaked into the interior. This may have simply been a case of me not making sure that the drain plug was secure... I will know for sure after our next outting. Also, you need a full car rack to carry this boat. Because of the hull design, it does not fit well with the foam kayak carrier systems and I scratched the roof of my crossover.
All-in-all, I am very happy with this boat. It is sturdy and versitile and would recommend it to anyone that asks.
