I am 5'8" 190 and I usually wear a M in TNF gear but this one has a more athletic cut than some of their other jackets. I have the windwall thermal in a M and two fleece jackets in M. This one however I needed a L. It is stretchy material and breathes well. For being resistant-which it does a good job of, it breathes very well. I woudl rate the wind resistance 4 out of 5. I wear it for running and in the winter for snowshoeing on warmer days and it does what I need it to-move well, insulate just a bit, breath and protect from wind.
