Love the shoes...

I've had these now a few weeks and I wear them everywhere; the gym, hiking, running errands, paintballing, ect. and they are great shoes overall. The size was true, good traction up and down slopes but awful on moist rocks (I can't think of many shoes that are good on wet rocks though). Love the Boa lacing system but occasionally/ randomly it unbinds w/o hitting the knob; this could prove to be an issue when combined with the low top form factor, increasing the chance of an ankle turning on the trails. The Gore-Tex XCR lining is not too hot on long hikes and the water proof attributes are a must have! I'm looking forward to trailblazing the summer away in these babies!

Hello again... This is Joe C. I am now returning these shoes due to the Boa system failing; the knob on right shoe finally busted after less than 6 months of use. Both shoes would unbind randomly which became annoying. I never over tightened the laces which I think would be a little hard to do without force (another draw back). I loved the fit and comfort of the shoe and the water proof/ breathable goretex lining was great but the Boa lacing system needs to go back to the drawing board. I have returned the shoes to Back Country and ordered the hightop version of these shoes and yes, it will also have the Boa system; I hope they will be better this time round. I also wanted the high tops for better ankle support where I find myself hiking a lot of hilly terrain and could use the extra ankle support.
