Ranked #907 - Daypacks
June 19, 2009
I searched for a long time for a pack that had all the features I wanted, and this pack was ultimately the closest I could get. The organizer is great and easy to access (could be a smidge bigger), the pack is extremely comfortable, the laptop pocket is perfect, and the two different exterior pockets are a real plus. The zippered side pocket is perfect for my work ID, transit pass, and car keys - I always know where they are. No more rooting around in my messenger bag. Switching to a backpack with all that weight in the pack saved my neck, too. It fits my laptop, thermos, lunch, water bottle, jacket, book, and various additional stuff with no problem. It seems really well made, too, typical of Patagonia. My only gripe is the same as "Cutback"'s - I wish it had some kind of exterior strap to secure something too in a hurry. Compression, bungee, anything. On the other hand, the clean lines are very nice and I don't have anything sticking out where it can get snagged on the subway or inside the x-ray machine. I recommend this pack with two thumbs up.
