Love'm. They are light, breath well, look really cool and the shoe laces never come untied. The problem with the 550's is that they are a large volume boot and wider than the Classic 500's. I wear a 10 500 and a 10.5 550. Each series seems to be someone different.

Backcountry was willing to exchange twice before I got the right size. They were really great.

But once you have that ironed out, with good socks, you will never want to take them off.

I just got the boots and they're great, but big. Need to exchange them for half size smaller I think. Wish I had noticed this comment earlier. It's a pain to figure out the return/exchange. That said, the boots got here in less than 5 days after I ordered. SInce I selected free shipping that was much faster than I expected.
