Gear Review
had higher expectations for a $280 jacket

The jacket is decent, but not amazing. The inside jacket is extremely flimsy (and not very attractive--I don't think I would ever wear it by itself). It is a shiny material, stitched into squares, like a down jacket (but thin, and without the fill).
The shell, on the other hand, looks very nice. I have not worn it in a downpour yet, but even in a drizzle, some of the raindrops bead, and others soak in. I'm skeptical of the Pertex material.
The hood fits great, and detaches without taking away from the aesthetics of the jacket.
Perhaps it's worth $100, but certainly not $280. If you're just looking for a rain jacket, go with something else (I've had good experiences with Marmot)
