While this is one of the most bomb proof tents made for winter use, I use mine all the time in all seasons. It vents well, and I have used it in Hawaii as well as on the Green River in Utah. There are lighter tents for such uses, but if you want only one tent, this is the one. For high altitudes, regardless of season this is a great tent. Let the winds blow, just be prepared to take in others whose 3-season tents have blown down.
The only down side is weight, hence only 4 stars.

what i meant to say is that you can use it during the summer (actually not bad if you can avoid having to put on the fly), but it's not very well ventilated. So don't fart with the fly on, or you and your tent buddy will be regretting it for the next hour.
