Gear Review
Very warm

Ranked #402 - Men's Softshell Jackets

This is a really nice jacket. Compared with my other softshells, it is thicker and warmer. While it's not really an insulated jacket, it has a Polartec lining that really improves its warmth. In cold conditions (or if you tend to run cold) this could be really nice, but if you run hot, are going to be very active, or are heavily layered, it is possible to overheat in this jacket. Perhaps due to its thickness, it does not breathe quite as well as I would like. It sheds water well, and does very well in wind. The hand pockets are indeed higher than for most jackets, but are quite large. There is also an internal chest pocket that is a little bigger than the standard iPod pocket. It is definitely more of a fitted cut than some other softshells (such as TNF or Mountain Hardwear).
