What happened to shorts that reach your waist?

The description of the rise on this short said "Medium" which I stupidly assumed meant it would come to my waist.
In the size I ordered, there is not a woman out there who should have a rise this low. I'd like to keep 'em covered, thanks.

If a medium rise comes up to your waist, where on Earth would a "high" stretch to? You'd be in lederhosen by then!

i agree with Ski Fanatic. Someone make a pair of shorts that active women over 40 can wear. For 3 years I've searched all summer for a pair of shorts that is not 100% cotton and sits at or slightly below the waist and is at least a nine inch inseam.
