i have used 3 pairs of the vasque velocity in the past and have really liked them, so I ordered this new version it is much improved for my purposes. these are cooler and lighter (or at least feel that way) and seem much more cushioning, especially in the heel. the rubber is soft and i thought it might tear up on the more jagged rocks but has not. vasque shoes fit my foot and running style well and I'll continue to order them for my trailing running shoes as long as they make a quality product.
