Gear Review
Looks cool, keeps you warm

Since I have a very breathable (perfect for summer) Gore Bike Xenon bike short-sleeve jersey, I thought this Xenon jacket might be similar. My mistake. Indeed, it's states this is for cooler or cold weather and it's quite true. I tried wearing this in 45 Fahrenheit and I was much too warm. It's an effective windstopper and because it looks fantastic, I'll keep it for cooler weather. In the meantime, I will search for the longsleeve version of the Xenon jersey I own or a similarly breathable one to protect my arms from thorny trails. Unfortunately I don't see it for sale here on backcountry. A couple of final notes about this jacket. There aren't any pockets or pit zips. I don't care for pockets since I use a camelback a lot but pit zips might have been a nice feature. The material curves around your bottom which makes for an excellent splash guard. You can crumple this thing into the size of your fist, shove it into your bag, pull it out a day later and it still won't be wrinkled. Nice.
