Nice looking garment and finish BUT extermely cold to wear. I have used this for walking and cycling and found that you get no protection from any cold weather whatsoever.I did research this item asking the seller if it suited my needs and was given a positive reply but even on coolish spring days it soon leaves you seeking shelter. You definitely need another jacket of some description over this one to maintain your body heat !!!!

Hi John,I work for Montane and have a paid-for Puma. The point about the jacket is that is uses the Polartec thermal pro fabric, with the Polartec Hardface treatment for additional weather protection, rather than a laminate. It does mean it is less windproof and water-resistant than some soft shells; BUT, the flip side is that it is lighter and much more breathable and less clammy. Obvioulsy it is very difficult to advise somebody whether they will be warm enough in a particular jacket, as so much depends on how hot they run, what they are doing etc etc. but we have not heard this complaint before from anybody; and in fact in UK press testing the jacket has always come out really well with 4-star plus ratings against other soft-shells.
